The introduction of Qlik Sense has enabled us to move from a reactive reporting department to an insights driven team. Investment in a new HR system ran in parallel with the requirement to understand the true nature of classic HR KPIs, such as headcount statistics, retention of talent, forecasting recruitment trends and gender pay disclosures. Travis Perkins is extremely forward-thinking regarding Data Literacy and the ability for its employees/analytics users to be able to read, work with, analyse and argue with data. They understand that the eﬀective management and reporting of data helps to quickly identify key focus areas.
In a matter of days, Catalyst IT (Catalyst), implemented Qlik Sense alongside Travis Perkins’ HR system. The development and delivery of analytics and reporting through Qlik Sense dashboards has allowed Travis Perkins to delve much deeper into their data and improve their decision-making. With this new level of reporting, they have made considerable cost-savings including over half a million pounds in terms of architectural development time saved. Future plans for Travis Perkins include the intention to roll-out the HR dashboard capabilities even more extensively within the organisation, so that other key stakeholders (HR, Finance etc.) can also manage their data more effectively.
The continuous support provided to Travis Perkins by Catalyst includes regular events, where key business users learn about the latest Qlik Sense software release, its capabilities and additional beneﬁts. Catalyst can also quickly bring together new environments to facilitate Proof of Concept (PoC) work, ensuring that Travis Perkins is always making the most of their investment and seeing tangible beneﬁts.
